Best Birthday Ever

I know my birthday was 2 months ago but I finally got around to posting about it. This was I would say the best birthday I have ever had. Brady is always so great to me and did not disappoint this year. I have been wanting an ipad for awhile but could not convince Brady of why I "needed" one. He completely surprised me and got me one for my birthday.

There was also one other thing that I told Brady I really wanted and he did not disappoint with that either. See if you can figure out what else he got me...

Thats right...if you notice the ipad message...he got me a baby in my belly!!!!!

I may be biased but isn't that the cutest little munchkin you've ever seen?! I took a pregnancy test (or maybe 4) the morning of my birthday and couldn't believe my eyes when I saw two lines appear. I thought it had to be a fluke, hence the 3 more tests. I waited until later that night to tell Brady and it nearly killed me waiting. I had bought and wrapped a baby BYU beanie and BYU booties since he is such a fan and let him open those. He looked at them a little confused but caught on pretty quick. We are both so excited and nervous all at the same time. I am 12 weeks along and getting ancy to find out if baby Barlow is a boy or girl. I have been a little sick and more tired but cant complain too much. I am hungry all the time and get a little moody when I don't get food. No particular cravings but sometimes I will see someone else eating and I have to have whatever they are eating. We feel so blessed especially since we had to wait awhile after my surgery/treatment and cant wait to see and hold our little munchkin.
Baby Barlow should be arriving around Dec 21, 2012. Merry Christmas to us.

So this weekend I went down to Moroni to watch my sister Aubrey in the Miss Moroni pageant. She did so well in all parts of the competition. She was very confident and poised and had great personality on stage. Im happy to say she came out of it with the crown. Congrats Aub, great job!!!

Build A Bear Round 2

Last week I took my super cute nephew Tanner to Build A Bear for a belated birthday present. He was so cute and I had such a fun time watching him. He picked out Papa Smurf and we got him stuffed, put a heart inside, gave him a bath, gave him a name and picked out an outfit for him. Tanner and Cade both loved the store and kept darting around looking at all the fun stuff. Thanks for a fun time Tanner, Happy Belated Birthday!

Build A Bear

This last week I took my nephew to Build-A-Bear for a belated birthday gift. He picked out a bear, got it stuffed and named him Sam. It was a lot of fun to see him excited to pick it out and stuff it, name it and pick out an outfit for him. Of course he picked out a Cars outfit since he loves the movie. Happy Birthday Cody.

Turkey Time

For those of you who don't know, my dad is a turkey farmer. I absolutely loved growing up on a farm. I got to see and experience things that a lot of people don't get the opportunity to. I will admit that when I was younger there were days I didn't appreciate the hard work I was being taught but as I look back now it has been a huge influence on who I am and how I act. My dad is the epitome of a hard worker and I have loved working with him and my family on the farm. It has brought us closer as a family and helped us all to have a good work ethic.

Several times a year my dad gets a new shipment of turkeys. They come on a big semi and he usually gets around 30,000 in a shipment...yes that is what I said, 30 thousand turkeys. They come when they are a day old and are the cutest things ever!! This January I went down on my day off to help him get a shipment. Getting new turkeys is my favorite part of being on a turkey farm. It is hotter than Hades in those coops when they come because the temp has to be around 85 to 90 degrees to keep them happy and healthy. Here are a few pics of my trip down...i'm sad I didn't take any with my dad, next time I guess.
Thanks dad for being the best example of a hard worker!!!!

The turkeys come in these crates stacked up
There so fluffy!!!!!
I know I look like a dork and i'm sweating like crazy, but look how cute that little chick is

Parkers Drive In

I cant believe it finally happened. I had hoped the day would never come but on Dec 30, 2011 Parkers Drive In closed its doors for good. This is the place my grandparents started 58 years ago. It has been a big part of my life and I have so many memories here. I still remember as a little girl coming up to see my grandparents and we would always stop in at "grandpas" first. We would sneak in the back door and sit on old wooden crates while my grandpa made us food. He was such a hard worker and took a lot of pride in what he did. My mom and both of my aunts worked here growing up and most of my girl cousins and myself have all worked here at some point. I am so glad I got to be a part of that experience. We even got Aubrey to flip a few burgers on the last day so she could say she had worked there. We decided the day after it closed to get all the family together down there for one last Parker's meal. It still hasn't hit me that I wont be able to stop in there anymore. It's a little hard too because in a way its the last piece of my Grandpa that we were holding on to. Im glad that we have so many great memories of him and my grandma to hold onto and so many great memories of Parker's Drive In aka Grandpas. Im so grateful for an amazing family to share it all with!!

This is my amazing grandma who with grandpa started it all.

Merry Christmas

This Christmas was not the most exciting ever but still great. It was my year to work christmas eve and christmas night. I guess people still get sick and hurt on the holidays. I worked with fun people though and we made the most of it. Brady got the flu on christmas eve so while I was at the hospital working he was home trying to get some rest and get feeling better. I was around for Christmas morning and Brady and I had a nice quiet morning sleeping in and opening gifts from each other. After we headed to Brady's parents to open gifts with them. This was the brightest warmest Christmas I can remember having in a long time. I have always loved Christmas and this year did not disappoint.

This picture does not do our tree justice. It was such a beautiful tree.
Brady's new beanie. He also got some clothes, tie and a GoPro camera

Brady completely surprised me and got me this sweet ski coat and ski pants. Now even if im not good at skiing I can at least look good while I attempt it.
